Welcome to Bardstown, KY - the bourbon capital of the world! The city of Bardstown has more bourbon barrels than people, and more bourbon stops than you can visit in a day. On a Bardstown Distillery Tour day, you can visit legacy distilleries, such as Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, and Maker's Mark. There are also distilleries off the beaten path, as well as craft distilleries. So whether you want to spend time in a historic downtown setting, or want to head out to sip bourbon in the country, we highly suggest getting out here!

Guests can typically pick from 3 locations, or 4 if they are planning a few "tasting-only" experiences. As always, if there is something you want to do that's not on the list, let us know! Jim Beam Distillery
One of our favorite tours on the bourbon trail, and the closest large-scale distillery to the city. Jim Beam offers a spacious campus, a fantastic restaurant, and allows you to see every aspect of distilling. And with 8 generations of history, their legacy rather goes unmatched.

Four Roses Warehouse and Bottling Facility
While tasting rooms don’t always get a main feature in our distillery list, this location is home to the Four Roses brands’ unique 1-story aging warehouses. And with 10 different bourbon variations, Four Roses is a place a bourbon drinker can really dial in their palette.

Heaven Hill Distillery
The largest family-owned American whiskey company, and a personal favorite of ours. Heaven Hill is home to countless quality products, and has some of the best amenities of any distillery. Don’t forget to check out the bourbon museum and make plans for lunch here.
Bardstown Bourbon Co.
Over the past decade, Bardstown Co. has quickly become the talk of bourbon capital of KY. This distillery is known for its fantastic tastings, its tasty restaurant, and thoughtful experiences.
Willett Distillery
Willett Distillery feels like a home away from home. This cozy distillery has so much going for it - charm, history, a little old school and new school, and great whiskey! Don’t forget about the restaurant here where you can try chef-crafted sharables and unicorn pours.
Lux Row Distillery
Lux Row is a bit of a sleeper on the trail. With its welcoming campus, tasty drinks, and tree-lined drive, it doesn’t feel like you’re in the city when visiting. Lux Row is the home to more bourbons than you probably realize, from popular (former) NDPs to historic brands, like Rebel.
Preservation Distillery
One of the craftiest distilleries in Kentucky. This Woman-owned distillery is home of Old Saint Nick, Rare Perfection, and more. It’s cozy, quaint, and tied with local history. It also gives a unique perspective on the fall and rise of bourbon from a person who witnessed it all.
Limestone Branch Distillery
If you’re looking for a humble, charming distillery that is off the beaten path, then Limestone Branch is for you. This distillery has deep roots, with names like the Dants and Beams tied to it. The distillery's primary focus is on a 150 year old bourbon brand - Yellowstone!

Do You Need a Reservation to Visit a Bardstown Distillery?
Nope! Each of the distilleries has a gift shop at the very least, and most of them have a bar where you can order cocktails or sample bourbon. You do, of course, need a reservation if you want to go behind the scenes to look at production and would want to purchase a guided tasting for a more hands-on tasting experience. Experiences like these do fill up in peak season, but don't let that deter you from visiting!
Where to Stay for a Bardstown Bourbon Tour?
There are some really nice airbnbs and a few solid chain hotels in the Bardstown area. We're big fans of the old Talbott Inn, though it's a bit dated. A lot of bourbon tourists choose to stay in Louisville due to its accessibility, airport, accommodations, and nightlife. But, it is nice to stay in Bardstown if you'd like to get out of the city and experience a bit more small-town hospitality.
What Are Some Other Must-Do Experience in the Bardstown Area?
Bardstown is pretty small, but mighty! You'll find plenty of evening happenings with music, dinner and drink pairings, and the sort. The Bardstown Dinner train is really neat and worth doing. There is a really nice golf course, a few museums, and My Old Kentucky Home State Park. Downtown is great, too! We love visiting downtown and visiting the shops, grabbing a soda at the corner drug store, and seeing the Old Talbott Inn, the once-famous stagecoach stop to the new Western Territory.
How Many Distilleries Can I visit in a day?
Good questions! The distilleries in Bardstown are a little spread out, so you can still spend a few hours driving between them, even without a tour. On a normal touring day, plan on 3. If you are distillery hopping, we can visit 5-7 distilleries easily! But unlike some 3-and-done tour companies, if we have time during your service hours, we can always add another stop. We'll keep you out from the time the distilleries open until they close!
What are the Pickup Options?
We offer free pickup and dropoff in Louisville or Bardstown for any Bardstown bourbon tour package. Pickup outside of these area could result in additional milage and fee charges, but please reach out for special requests!
