Louisville Bourbon Tours & Distilleries
Louisville, Kentucky! A city built on hospitality, horse racing, and, of course, bourbon. Folks looking to do a Louisville Bourbon Tour will find themselves pleasantly surprised with all of the amenities, dining and drink options, and accessibility. Staying in Louisville makes it possible to see more distilleries in 1 day and even provides some late night options! Unfiltered Kentucky Tours and most of the bourbon tour companies operate out of Louisville, making this a logistically friendly start to your bourbon journey.

Louisville Bourbon Tour Options
Louisville has one of the highest numbers of distilleries on the bourbon trail. We offer service to about a dozen area distilleries, and some can be added by special request. In Louisville, we can typically take a group to 3-4 stops in the city depending on the length if your pickup was in town. As always, if there is a destination you want to visit that's not on here, we can acomodate!

Louisville Distillery Tour & Tasting Room Options

Old Forester Distillery
Perhaps the most popular distillery in Louisville. Old Forester offers a tour that feels like your deep in the hills of the Bourbon Trail in the heart of downtown. Here you can see whiskey production, aging, and much more while soaking in over 150 years of history.

Stitzel Weller Distillery
The largest tourable distillery campus in the city that was once home to some very big names in bourbon. When touring this pre-WW2 distillery, you'll enjoy a lovely brick campus, tasteful renovations, full sized warehouses, and much more while enjoying quality whiskeys from spirits giant Diageo's portfolio.

Peerless Distillery
Homely is perhaps the best word to describe Peerless Distillery. This craft distillery is home to a family's revival project of a 100+ year old whiskey brand that is their family legacy. At Peerless, you can find some fantastic sweet-mash whiskey, a knowledgable staff, and a genuine love of bourbon in a gorgeous distillery.

Angel's Envy Distillery
What we like to call the "workingest distillery in Downtown Louisville." While many other whiskey brands only have a visitor's center or small sample distillery downtown, Angel's Envy makes all of its bourbon right here. AE boasts a highly efficient modern distillery with approachable whiskeys, and a great location.

Michter's Distillery
We really love Michter's Whiskey here! We like to think that Michter's may have one of the best lineups of flagship whiskeys in all of Kentucky. And as big history nerds, their history, which dates back to the Revolutionary War, is fascinating. While small, this distillery is very approachable and friendly, and has one of the highest rated bourbon bars on the trail!

Copper & Kings
Variety is the spice of bourbon! Copper & Kings is a unique distillery in that, their primary focus is on making brandy, and not bourbon. Though, they do use fresh bourbon barrels for making their brandy. This place is just cool. And inclusive. It has a friendly staff, food, good drink, and dogs! What else can you ask for?

Evan Williams Bourbon Experience
The Evan Williams story is a fun story of one of the KY's earliest settlers & whiskey makers. Here you will not only learn about our first licensed distillery, you will also learn about the early days of Louisville, how bourbon made it's way through the banks of the Ohio, and much more. This is a great stop for museum lovers who like a little cheesiness & charm.

Kentucky Artisan Distillery
KY's first contract distillery! If you didn't realize, many of the brands you see on a well-stocked whiskey shelf don't own a distillery - they get it from places like this. And many great brands passed have passed through KAD's doors, most notablty, Jefferson's. This cozy, efficient distillery is near a lovely area, perfect for a day trip.

Do You Need a Reservation to Visit a Louisville Distillery?
You do not! Each distillery will have a gift shop you can visit and each one in the Louisville area has a bar. You are able to visit these without a tour reservation. Of course, if you want to see bourbon being made and get more history on a brand, you would want to book a tour or guided experience. If you're having a hard time finding reservations, please reach out! We can let you know what your options are.

Where to Stay for a Louisville Bourbon Tour?
Being a major city, thankfully there are a lot of options! Just downtown alone, there are 7 or 8 nice hotels that vary in price. Some of our favorites are the Omni, A Loft, the Brown, and the Galt House. There are also a ton of Airbnbs in the surrounding area. Unfiltered KY Tours offers service to all hotels and Airbnbs in Louisville Metro area. We also offer free pickup and drop-off! Pickup outside of the Louisville Metro Area is possible but may result in additional fees.

What Are Some Other Must-Do Experience in the Greater Louisville Area?
Its better to ask, what are you into? Louisville has a thriving music and arts scene, fantastic food, drinks galore. Some of our favorite things to do are the Louisville Slugger Museum, catching a Louisville Bats game during baseball season, walking to Indiana across the Big Four walking bridge. Don't forget Churchill Downs or the Fraiser Museum, the official start of the Bourbon Trail!

How Many Distilleries Can I visit in a day?
Challenge accepted! Unlike some other Louisville bourbon tour companies, we will keep you out from the time the distilleries open, until they close. We even know some after hours stops! So, this depends on whether or not you are doing tours at some of your stops, or if you want to pop in for a drink and to see the property. Be sure to ask about our distillery hopping days if you're looking to bounce around the city!
